Regional Growth Fund (RGF) – Applications sought by BIS from businesses

The Regional Growth Fund (RGF) - Round 6 opened on 19 June 2014. At least £200 million of RGF support is being made available for this round and bidders have until midday on 30 September 2014 to submit their applications to the Fund.

Those bids that are selected for support will have until March 2017 to drawn down the RGF funding.  Round 6 remains focused on the private sector and bids will only be accepted from wholly private organisations, such as limited companies and universities. The minimum bid threshold is £1 million. The RGF continues to operate in England only.

The survey coincides with the announcement of the second annual Small Business Friendly Council Awards which will take place on November 12th in Central London.

Mary Macleod welcomes tax cuts for local high streets

An estimated 500 local shops, pubs and restaurants in the Hounslow Borough could see their tax bills cut by a third because of tax cuts for small businesses taking effect this week.

Local MP Mary Macleod welcomed the news that will support the high streets in Chiswick, Brentford and Hounslow, boosting jobs and growth.

Clive Potts is doing a Master's degree at the University of West London. As part of his degree he is writing a dissertation entitled "Graduate Recruitment by Small Business".
