Adam Shailes Takes Over Presidency

As of 1st September, David resigns as President of Brentford Chamber of Commerce, ceding the Presidency to the Vice-President Adam Shailes of

David explains "I have had a very enjoyable two and a half years in Brentford, working as Meetings & Events Sales Manager at Holiday Inn Brentford Lock. Part of Redefine BDL Hotels, Europe’s largest hotel management company with its head office in Brentford, the hotel has seen a large growth in business in my time here. As such I was recently promoted to the position of Director of Sales & Marketing, a role which takes me away from Brentford and makes it impossible for me to devote the time required for the Chamber.

"I am happy with the progress we have made as an executive committee. We have refocused our efforts to realistic and achievable aims, to goals that will have a benefit to business in Brentford. It really is an exciting time for the area and I look forward to seeing the progress that the local community makes with all the incoming developments and changes ahead. I wish this corner of London the very best, a piece of this crazy city where actually a lot of local people get involved!”

Brentford Chamber's executive unanimously declared support for Adam who was born and bred in Brentford, and is the managing director of iconic local business and AttendIT.

Adam says: “It’s a huge honour to be the new President of the Brentford Chamber. I’m incredibly proud to be from Brentford & Ealing area and I’m excited for the future of this exciting town.

“David O’Connor’s shoes will be difficult to fill, but I can’t wait to get stuck in and focus my attention on supporting Brentford businesses and helping them to flourish”.

David's departure does leave us with a vacancy on the executive team so if you'd like to help us develop over the next year please get in touch.
