Invitation to Civic Carol Service

Members of Brentford Chamber of Commerce and their friends are cordially invited to the Parish of Brentford Civic Carol Service.

This will be held on Thursday 15 December, 2011, 7.30pm at St Faith's Church, Windmill Road, Brentford TW8 9NA.

It will be a traditional service of 9 lessons and carols, followed by mince pies and wine.

Local businesses, schools and other community stakeholders are all invited. Our MP, The Mayor of Hounslow and all local councillors have all agreed to join in. The parish would want this to be a truly Community event with as many  neighbours as possible joining us.

This year will be the 25th. anniversary of the Partnership Challenge and as always there will be much to celebrate. Eton College have kindly agreed to host this special anniversary event as they won the Jubilee Cup last year.

Presentation by Ballymore

Brentford Community Council will host Ballymore who will give a presentation by the design team on their initial work on the South Side of the High Street.

This will take place at their next meeting on Thursday July 28th starting at 7.15pm in the Methodist Church Hall, Clifden Road.

Hounslow Education Business Partnership Partnership Celebration

4.30 - 6.30 hosted by Watermans, Brentford

We would like to invite you and your colleagues from the Brentford Chamber to join us for drinks and nibbles at a double celebration at 4.30 on Wednesday 6th. July.

Careers Fair for St Mark's Sixth Form

Abi Conisbee, from the Business Links Partnership invites you to take part in St Mark's Career Fair.

The Event is only for the sixth form students of which there are 147.  In the morning the businesses would have a table in the Hall for students to come round and ask questions and then in the afternoon 2 workshops, to which students sign up to in advance, to go into details of specific industries and career opportunities in more depth.

Something Sounds Wonderful at the Musical Museum

On Saturday 9th April, from 1pm - 10pm, in the fabulous setting of the Musical Museum, an exciting day of live music, workshops and performances will be held by the inspiring Connect & Create, with all proceeds going towards Disability Network Hounslow's vital work.

The flagship event will once again be opened by the Mayor of Hounslow playing bass guitar, followed by an appearance of the magnificent Wurlitzer, star of the Musical Museums collection. An exciting array of bands from London and the South East will follow, featuring a diverse range of music, from Latin rhythms, African drums, to wild Balkan gypsy music, not to mention a Harp Workshop and an inclusive music session from Joy of Sound!

Docking Station Launch

An idea from the young people of Hounslow

'The Social Enterprise High Street Challenge' challenged young people in Hounslow secondary schools to develop a business plan for an empty shop in Brentford High Street in just eight weeks. Selected in a Dragons Den-like final last Autumn, the winning business concept "Docking Station" came from a team at Hounslow Manor school.

The new shop will be run by nine apprentices who started their training at West Thames College in December and will continue their technical training at Thames Valley University in partnership Hounslow Apprenticeship Training.

We would like to invite you and your colleagues to join us at the Partnership Challenge to recognise, reward and celebrate the growing number of activities taking place between schools and the local economic community in Hounslow.

At the Partnership Challenge, certificates will be presented to schools and their community partners. In addition to the certificates, Hounslow Chamber will present the Jubilee Cup to one of the joint secondary school activities and the Malcolm Gibbins Cup to one of the joint primary school activities. In addition to the two trophies the Angela Innes Award will be presented to the community partner who has demonstrated an understanding of the needs of students through work related learning activities and who, in the opinion of the school who nominates them, has gone "the extra mile." There will also be displays of several partnership activities.
