The next General Meeting is the AGM on Tuesday 18th May at The Hock Cellar, Fuller Smith and Turner, Griffin Brewery, Chiswick Lane South at 6pm for a 6.30pm start. As the tour of the brewery lasts an hour and a half it has been rescheduled to 5pm with limited places.

Please respond as to whether you are attending the AGM and/or the tour if you haven’t already done so. The paperwork has already been issued in a previous email, but if you require another copy please ask.

We look forward to the company of our new MP for Brentford and Isleworth, Mary Macleod and congratulate her on her new position.

There are a few business events coming up that may be of interest:

Countdown to the 2012 Games event taking place at Ealing Town Hall on Thursday 20th May 2010, 6pm to 9pm.

This FREE event is organised by the London Business Network, the organisation chosen by London 2012 to promote Games-related contracts to the capital’s business community.

Businesses in West London are invited to this event to find out the latest news from London 2012 and how their business can benefit and prepare for the Games.

Business Question Time – your chance to quiz the Mayor of London

Event: Business Question Time with the Mayor of London and panel of guests

Date: Monday 24th May 2010

Time: 7:00pm to 8:30pm (doors open at 6:00pm)

Venue: The Mermaid Conference and Events Centre, Puddle Dock, Blackfriars, London, EC4V 3DB

London’s small businesses will be joining the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, for a lively discussion on how the capital can beat the economic downturn.

The event, ‘Small Business is Big Business: supporting local businesses’ also gives London’s small and medium sized firms the opportunity to question the Mayor directly and voice their views and concerns.

Subjects which will be up for debate include transport, skills, employment and the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Mayor will be joined by a panel of guests made up of:

Colin Stanbridge – Chief Executive, London Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Tim Campbell – Founder and CEO, Bright Ideas Trust and winner of series one of BBC’s The Apprentice

Sue Terpilowski – Chair, London Policy Unit at the Federation of Small Business

Anthony Browne – Mayor’s Policy Director for Economic Development

The event will be chaired by Sky News Business Correspondent, Darshini David.
