Hounslow Chamber Partnership Challenge 2010

Hounslow Chamber Partnership Challenge 2010. 4.30 – 6.30 Monday 29th. November 2010

Longford Community School, Tachbrook Road, Feltham TW14 9PE

Dear Colleague

We would like to invite you and your colleagues to join us at the Partnership Challenge to recognise, reward and celebrate the growing number of activities taking place between schools and the local economic community in Hounslow.

At the Partnership Challenge, certificates will be presented to schools and their community partners. In addition to the certificates, Hounslow Chamber will present the Jubilee Cup to one of the joint secondary school activities and the Malcolm Gibbins Cup to one of the joint primary school activities. In addition to the two trophies the Angela Innes Award will be presented to the community partner who has demonstrated an understanding of the needs of students through work related learning activities and who, in the opinion of the school who nominates them, has gone “the extra mile.” There will also be displays of several partnership activities. We are delighted that our keynote speaker this year will be Declan Swan, CEO of the Institute for Education Business Excellence < IEBE > which is the professional body for work related learning professionals.

The IEBE has over 1200 members and provides a range of services including quality assurance for member organisations and professional accreditation for individuals wishing to develop themselves. Declan’s role is to represent his members and raise their profile across government, business and education. He has a background in skills development for adults having run a National Training Organisation and played a key role in the development of Sector Skills Councils. He is a Fellow of the RSA and Hospitality Institute.

Earlier this year Declan accepted an award from the International Partnership Network on behalf of IEBE for its work in developing local communities. He says his goal is to create a professional community of all those who work to prepare young people for the world of work. Declan is a key national figure we are delighted he will be able to join us at the Partnership Challenge.

We very much hope that you and your colleagues will join us at Longford Community School at 4.30 on Monday 29th. November to celebrate the growing number of partnership activities taking place to benefit the young people of Hounslow.

Kind regards

Garth Buckle, Executive Committee Member, Hounslow Education Business Partnership
