Hidden London
Owl and the Pussycat
A water-themed opera using the story of the Owl and the Pussycat for inspiration has been created by Terry Jones (Monty Python) and composer Gill Dudley (Full Monty). It will have its premiere performance in Brentford before it floats along London’s canals to the Olympic Park.
Entry for the performance is by FREE ticket
available in advance from www.watermans.org.uk or on the door on the day.
Olympic Torch Procession
Tuesday 24 July
Commissioned by the council, the Brentford Street Steering Group will be creating a carnival atmosphere as the Torch reaches Brentford at 11.40am, with an array of music, performers and activities centred around Market Place and the High street. These include walkabout entertainers, golden stilt-walking dragons, jugglers and living statues, face painters, dancing, stalls selling arts, crafts, food and drinks. The highlight of the Brentford event will be a two hour programme of live music including jazz, pop and reggae, with the main stage surrounded by
country-style hay bale seating

The Brentford Challenge
Saturday 11 August
Active 360, Brentford Community Sports Trust and ISIS launch the Brentford Challenge. Participants can enter for a single, double or triple challenge including:
- Running
- Paddleboarding
- Climbing
The challenge will take place _______________ finishing at the Great Conservatory in Syon Park for celebratory picnics.
