Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities with Spark!

Spark! have announced their listing of events for this term. They  do have a few chamber members who already support the work that they do but are always looking for new people to help and these events are a great opportunity to engage with young people and raise the profile of their business. Most activities are a full school day programme but even half a day’s help is appreciated.

WOMEN IN CAREERS DAY – 23 January 2013 at Hounslow Manor | Years 10-13

Spark! is looking for professional business women to engage with students at the school. The aim of the day is to motivate and inspire the younger female generation. We would like to incorporate some speed networking and workshops, so if you feel you can contribute please sign up!

ROLLERCOASTER CHALLENGE – 5 Feb 2013 at Feltham School | Year 8
Share your knowledge and expertise with young people by volunteering to assist at a fun school enterprise day. Students will be set a business challenge and present their ideas at the end of the day.

SPARK! STEM DAY – 13 February 2013 at Brentford for Girls | Year 8
The involvement of employers with a specific subject curriculum can help students place their learning within the context of the workplace. So, if you have a science related background – please get in touch and support the Spark! Science Day

CAREERS DAY / SPEED NETWORKING -14 Feb 2013 at Rivers Academy | Year 10
Deliver a mini workshop about your industry or organisation at a local school. The school will match small groups of students that are interested in your area of work. A talk on career opportunities followed by a short practical activity would be ideal, or come along to just be involved in a speed networking session – it is fun, fast and effective!
