Space Station Celebrates Thirty Years with Competitions
Space Station Self Storage, headquartered in Slough and with branches in Brentford, Uxbridge and Isleworth, celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and is offering local residents the chance to share in the celebrations by launching several competitions. Prizes include tickets to the England v Argentina QBE International rugby match at Twickenham on Saturday 9th November 2013 and special 30th anniversary edition Swatch Est 1983 watches.
People will be able to enter three competitions over the next few months:
Memories of 1983: Send in your memories and pictures of 1983 via Twitter and Facebook and the best memory will win a special anniversary Swatch. This competition is now running and will close on 31st July, 2013.
Earliest Customers: If you were one of Space Station’s earliest customers, you can win the Twickenham rugby tickets by submitting your memories of storing with the company in its early years. This competition will run from 17th June to 31st August 2013.
Name the Elephant: Space Station’s logo is an elephant and this competition invites people to suggest a name for the Elephant, which up to now is just known as “Elephant”. People can submit suggested names to the company via Twitter and Facebook. This competition will run from 16th September to 30th November 2013.

Space Station is the longest established self storage company in the United Kingdom. The company was founded in 1983 by Alastair Caldwell, who was formerly team manager for the McLaren Formula 1 team, managing drivers such as James Hunt, Nelson Piquet and Emerson Fittipaldi. James Hunt won the Formula 1 World Championship in 1976. The first Space Station self storage site was in Colnbrook, Berkshire and the first Brentford store followed in 1984. Brentford Station, Isleworth and Slough (1997) followed, with the Uxbridge store opening in 2006. Space Station now has twenty-six staff working in five stores, with a total of 250,000 square feet of storage space.
