What is Thamesbank Credit Union
Dear Brentford Chamber of Commerce Member
Thamesbank Credit Union – how we can benefit your business
I have attended a few Chamber meetings and enjoyed the company and the sense of being in a progressive business community, but in truth I have spoken to very few of you and have not explained what the Credit Union is about, and how and why you should support it!
I’m sure you are busy, so this is very brief.
What is a Credit Union? It’s a sort of community bank, which encourages people to save and to borrow.
What is Thamesbank Credit Union? Credit unions are usually local, and Thamesbank serves the Boroughs of Hounslow and Richmond. We serve anybody who lives or works in the Boroughs.
Is it safe? We’re regulated by both the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulatory Authority and deposits are guaranteed up to £85000.
Why should a local business get involved? We are part of the community and based mainly on Brentford, so working with us shows some local solidarity. More to the point, Thamesbank can offer very good savings and loan products and help you and your staff avoid paying high interest rates to credit card companies or short term lenders. We are particularly keen to sign up employers who will offer direct payments on behalf of their staff via payroll deduction – this makes life safer and simpler for us and we can be more generous. This simple action by employers involves no risk and little cost to you but might actually make a big difference to your people if they are struggling to make ends meet.
