Speed Networking at Grey Court School
Over the past year I have been deeply immersed in developing Spark! our local education business partnership, hence the lack of occasional updates!
Spark! is a business-led charity, established in 1980, that supports young people in making the vital transition from school to the world of work. We deliver 40+ events in schools each year, working with 500+ employers and support 3000+ young people.
I would like to invite you to participate in a speed networking activity with young people at Grey Court School (Richmond) this Thursday 11th July. Two hours of your time (1.15 – 3pm) Speed Networking with young people at the school will help us inspire and engage them in exploring a range of future career options. Alternatively, if this date doesn’t suit your diary Tuesday 16th July could you join us for an hour or two (between 9am-2pm) to do a ‘Mock Interview’ with some young people at St Mark’s Catholic School, Hounslow?
Speed Networking is a high energy and fun way of introducing young people to a range of careers in a short amount of time. The students are in Year 10 (14 year olds) and will be in groups of five and spend up to 10 minutes with each business volunteer. During this time all you need to do is introduce your name, company name, job title and a brief overview of what you do – and then take any questions the students may have for you on your career journey. The students rotate every ten minutes. This allows students to be better informed of the job market and build their confidence.
Collaborating with Spark! is a great opportunity to engage with West London schools and raise the profile of your business. We are still looking for an additional 15 volunteers for these two events, so please support us if you can and spread the word. E-mail my colleague ruby.mir@sparklondon.org today to register your availability.
I look forward to crossing paths again soon.
Kind regards,
Andrew
