December News from Brentford Chamber

December News from Brentford Chamber

Upcoming Events

Our next event is at Brompton Bicycles on January 21st. Details will follow but please mark it in your diary. Brompton is Brentford’s most iconic business and one of the few local manufacturers left.

Also we are taking bookings to visit Brentford Football Club en masse on February 8th against Crawley. You are invited to Siracusa Restaurant for lunch beforehand for a fantastically low £20 for lunch and football. Please let us know if you’d like to join us.

Chamber News

Suzie read a lesson at the Brentford Civic Carol Service organised by former President Jennifer Corbin. Attendees included Brian Sawyer, also a former President, Alessandro Marchesini, President of Brentford and Chiswick Rotary,  Councillor Sachin Gupta, Mayor of LB Hounslow and many parishioners.

Suzie took the opportunity to renew links with the Rotary who were quite close to the Brentford Chamber in the past and we look forward to welcoming them to future events.

To help support small businesses such as Naked Grain Small Business Saturday was commemorated on Brentford High Street with both local councillors and Mary Macleod MP. Suzie featured in photos with both.

Members’ News

We’re not sure how you could have missed it but Brentford FC received planning permission from LB Hounslow for Lionel Road and this application will go before the Mayor of London and the Secretary of State early next year. Suzie’s speech and the full 4 hour webcast are available to view.

Spark! are looking for business mentors for early next year. Please support the excellent work they do and the new Mosaic Enterprise Challenge and get involved.

We’re very grateful that there were no injuries at Goddard’s fire this week and would applaud their ability to re-open for business on the following day. If you haven’t developed your business continuity plan then this acts as a reminder.

We welcome P2P Finance as a member of the Brentford Chamber of Commerce, and our joint winners of the second Dragons Den, AviationShake and Performance Pins.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and look forward to the New Year.
