Investing in Hounslow – Regeneration and Employment

Heather Cheesbrough, Assistant Director Strategic Planning, Regeneration and Economic Development invite you on behalf of LB Hounslow to a special event on Monday 10th February 2014 from 5.30-8.00pm at the Hounslow Civic Centre to discuss investing in Hounslow.

We are looking at strong economic growth levels in Hounslow with unprecedented levels of development and investment. In order for the borough to capture this growth for the benefit of its residents, the Council is taking a lead role in coordinating regeneration, economic development, skills, training and planning.

This will all be delivered in partnership with the private and third sector. To set out our approach and key areas of focus we have prepared a paper which is to be submitted to the London LEP. (The London Enterprise Panel is the local enterprise partnership for London. Chaired by Mayor of London Boris Johnson, the LEP is the body through which the Mayoralty works with London’s boroughs, business and Transport for London to take a strategic view of the regeneration, employment and skills agenda for London.) This paper is to promote conversation and further our working together to ensure the delivery of our common goals. In addition to this key paper we would also like to share our updated Local Economic Assessment and early visioning and master planning work for the Golden Mile.

To follow this we will have a high level discussion panel. Speakers include Harvey McGrath, deputy chairman of the LEP, Chris Stylianou, Managing Director, Customer Service Group, BSkyB as well as council members and representatives from local businesses. The evening will close with a drinks reception with plenty of opportunities to network with your council member, local businesses, investors and developers.
