Public meeting re Brent Lea Planning Application
The recreation ground is well used come rain and shine. It is Metropolitan Open Land and is needed even more now that none of the new flats have playing space attached. There are 8 brownfield sites that would be suitable (see the assessment pdf)
The Council have not maintained the tennis court or installed any playground facilities. Never the less, the beautiful tree filled open space is used for football, walking, picnic, dog walking and jogging.
Floreat Education were told that it is under used. It is not.
It is a safe play area as it only has one gate away from the main London Road. Some of the trees have bat roosts.
If a School is allowed, there will be no onsite parking. The staff will have to park in the local streets and there will be no dropping off spaces for parents.
If you are concerned that yet another green area well used by local people, is at risk from more development, then please come and show your support. With so much new development we need our recreation spaces more than ever.
Written objections should go to Stephen.Hissett@hounslow.gov.uk and planning.objections@hounslow.gov.uk.
I hope to see some of you this evening.
Kind regards
Joanna Russell
