London College of Music Celebrate Shakespeare
Members and friends of Brentford Chamber are invited to join the London College of Music to attend performances of West Side Story between 7-17th December (tickets £8) and A Musical Winter’s Tale (free) on 13th December.
Shakespeare 400 is an interdisciplinary arts festival that celebrates the works and influence of one of our greatest creative thinkers – William Shakespeare (1564 – 1616).
The festival gives us an opportunity for a glimpse into the world of popular culture during the age of Elizabeth I, with scenes from the dramatic works of Shakespeare, to songs and music. We’re also able to celebrate the influence of Shakespeare in musical and artistic events that have been at the heart of our current monarch’s reign Elizabeth II, including the popular and iconic musical West Side Story based on the story of ‘Romeo and Juliet’.
The festival aims to bring together a series of interdisciplinary performances from different schools within the University. We hope you will have the opportunity to share a little time with us during these two weeks and be proud of our university that celebrates the diversity of the individual and every aspect of its curriculum in such a creative and positive environment.
Exhibitions and installations inspired by Shakespeare are to be found throughout the festival.
