London Assembly member Tony Arbour says Small Businesses Should Have ‘Holiday’ From Minimum Wage

Companies with fewer than 10 employees should be given a ‘holiday’ from the minimum wage, according to Conservative London Assembly Member Tony Arbour.

Mr Arbour, who is LA member for the South-West constituency, is using a meeting of the Assembly’s Economy Committee today (June 12) to call for London’s small and micro-businesses to be given a short minimum wage exemption of up to six months in an effort to boost employment and growth.

Mary Macleod MP appointed Ambassador for small business in London

Brentford and Isleworth MP Mary Macleod has been named as London’s Small Business Ambassador by Prime Minister David Cameron.

As part of the Government’s ongoing efforts to support small businesses, twelve Small Business Ambassadors have been appointed nationwide and will help promote and represent small businesses across the country and government. Small businesses – those which employ up to 50 employees – contribute half of the jobs and half of the private sector turnover in the economy.

Invitation to Syon House – Drinks and Digs

Syon ParkChamber members and guests are invited to join Syon Park and Museum of London guests for an evening celebrating this year’s excavation on Wednesday 3rd July.

There will be a drinks reception with canapés at the colonnade of Syon House which will start at 6:30pm. Harvey Sheldon will speak about this year’s dig in the Central Courtyard at about 7pm.
