2013 Apprenticeship offer from West Thames College

Consultation on extending 235 bus service to Great West Quarter

Transport for London (TfL) is seeking the views of local residents and stakeholders about the proposed changes to bus route 235 that would enhance services to the Great West Quarter Development (GWQ) in Brentford.

The route 235 currently runs between Sunbury Village and Brentford County Court but, under proposals discussed with the London Borough of Hounslow, it would be rerouted along Brentford High Street and Ealing Road to GWQ.

Consultation on Hounslow’s Local Plan for Next 15 Years

The council is consulting on the Policy Options for the Local Plan – the first stage in developing a new plan for the borough that will set out its future development of the next 15 years.

The consultation runs for a period of six weeks, from Friday 14 June until 5pm on Friday 26 July. and we invite you to comment on the proposals set out in the consultation document.

Local Youth unemployment at record lows

Brentford and Isleworth MP Mary Macleod today (13th June) welcomed new employment figures showing that local unemployment had fallen this month by 2.8%. Local youth unemployment also fell by 2.1% and is now 19% lower than it was before the 2010 General Election.

London Assembly member Tony Arbour says Small Businesses Should Have ‘Holiday’ From Minimum Wage

Companies with fewer than 10 employees should be given a ‘holiday’ from the minimum wage, according to Conservative London Assembly Member Tony Arbour.

Mr Arbour, who is LA member for the South-West constituency, is using a meeting of the Assembly’s Economy Committee today (June 12) to call for London’s small and micro-businesses to be given a short minimum wage exemption of up to six months in an effort to boost employment and growth.
